Vindabona’s heavy military presence left a rich material culture. Top left to bottom right—rare 2nd C AD floor tiles, iron figurine of a ram, iron key ring, 2-3rd C AD wall painting, high quality imported Samian ware, legionary shields from above the main gate, the ‘Porta Principalis Dextra’, 2nd/3rd C AD sieve, & local ‘face pot’ which was not used for cooking but to ward off evil in rituals and for burial. |
