The Biblical Museum Tarragona, Spain, has opened Imperivm et Sacerdotivm, an exhibition of costume recreating the Ravenna mosaics of Justinian and Theodora. In collaboration with LEGIIAVG, costumier and member Roger Oldhampstead has recreated in stunning detail the late roman costumes of the Imperial court. Roger, who has created costume for numerous film and television productions including Cleopatra starring Richard Burton and Elisabeth Taylor, I Claudius, A Passage To India and Dr. Who, to name but a few, has spent the past two years reconstructing the period costume in detail from the beautiful mosaic representation of the Imperial court. The exhibition runs from June 30th to 15th July, and will then travel to further locations around Europe. Stay tuned for further updates....
