Specialists For the sake of the website specialists are roles or responsibilities found in the military beyond the pale of the ordinary soldier, for example engineers, medical staff and artillery men. The Roman army famed for its tactical and fighting abilities carried within itself a high degree of self sufficiency rarely found, even in many of todays armed forces. These specialists built siege equipment, learnt medical techniques which would herald new understandings of the human body and created sewage works and other constructions still in use today in many areas.
