FULL DAY: ONE MAN
A man dressed in full armour gives a talk on the life of the Roman soldier.
A probable maximum of six such sessions for different classes can be provided over the course of a day but every attempt is made to introduce any variations that might be requested by staff.
FULL DAY: ONE MAN - ONE WOMAN EXTENDED PROGRAMME
The legionary presenting the various aspects of military life is joined by a Roman lady in the dress of the period who talks about her life and gives details on such subjects as religion, medicine, cosmetics and jewellery during the first two centuries AD.
FULL DAY: TWO MAN - ONE WOMAN EXTENDED PROGRAMME
A second legionary joins his colleague and the lady to present an additional open air experience - weather permitting. His activity centres on a reconstruction of the tent that housed a contubernium (the basic eight-man unit of the Roman army) and the children listen to the soldier describing his life as he cooks over a fire. (In the event of bad weather, as many of these additional activities as possible are moved indoors.) The children are then drilled using Latin commands.
